Meet the owner, Sara Grube
I was born and raised in Virginia (with a three-year stint in California). I spent most of my time in and around the Richmond area, but in 1997 moved to the Middle Peninsula, close to the Rappahannock River and the Chesapeake Bay. Though we only stayed there for three years, it left a lasting impression that lingered throughout our time back in Richmond.
I started out as a teacher, but after 15 years or so, I ended up working remotely for a large nonprofit. I dove in and learned to love SEO, analytics, and content optimization, eventually working up to the MarCom Director position. My office was portable, making it possible to attend my two kids’ games and see the country. But the river and ocean always called us back.
So in 2020, at the height of Covid and with the kids out of high school, we made a spontaneous decision to move back to the coast, buying a house near Deltaville, VA on a tributary of the Rappahannock. Since then, we have embraced life on and near the water while working ‘portable’ careers.
I’ve always been a beach girl, and I’m a Parrot Head (Jimmy Buffett fan) to my core. The soundtrack to my life has and always will be a Buffett song. The water and the salt air have a magnetic attraction for me. Sunrises and sunsets are somehow just better. With my husband, Mike, and our little doodle, Cooper, we spend free time on the boat, enjoying life and our family. The orange cat, Hans, opts out of boat life but loves the screened porch.
In 2026, after a couple life curveballs, I’ve decided to start this business, named Latitude 37 in honor of the water and the latitude (and attitude) of my life. I love SEO, content, helping people and making a difference, and this just seems like the right move right now.
So there you have it. Sunsets, sunrises, new beginnings.
